Briard Breed Profile

Country of Origin: France.

Size: 56 - 68 cm (22 - 26.75 inches).

Coat: Hair is long and wavy with a light undercoat. Can be a variety of colors, but white and chestnut are not allowed.

Character: This dog is tough, brave, alert, and loyal. It does not like teasing.

Temperament: With proper training and socialization, the Briard is a great pet that exists happily with other pets. However, it can be slightly aggressive toward other dogs, and is suspicious of strangers.

Care: Weekly grooming with a brush and comb is required. The ears must also be kept clean.

Training: Training must be firm and consistent, with much patience.

Activity: This breed needs reasonable amounts of exercise.
